Dr. Jason Casey

Chiropractor – BSc (Kinesiology), DC

Dr. Casey completed his Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University, Burnaby in 1996. He continued his educational pursuits at Western States Chiropractic College, in Portland, Oregon. He received his Doctorate in Chiropractic with academic honours (Summa Cum Laude), & honorary Clinical Excellence Award in 1997. Dr. Casey has been freeing people from pain since 1998 in his clinic in Pitt Meadows, BC. He is committed to promoting the health & well being of his patients. Dr. Casey uses a “whole person approach” when taking care of his patients. This approach to wellness means looking for underlying causes of any disturbance or disruption (which may or may not be causing symptoms at the time) & make whatever interventions and lifestyle adjustments that would optimize the conditions for normal function. Using this unique approach, Dr. Casey is able to help you to accelerate &/or maintain your journey to good health.

Dr. Casey is married to Lisa, & they are proud parents of two daughters, Maraya & Brielle. They reside in Maple Ridge. Dr. Casey was introduced to chiropractic at a young age. Suffering from headaches, he began seeing his family chiropractor, with great success. He began thinking about a career in chiropractic when he was in Grade 10.

Dr. Casey absolutely loves helping people, so much that, he says “It is not a job – it is a passion!” 

Dr. Liz McCrindle

Chiropractor – BSc, DC

Dr. Liz McCrindle is dedicated to enhancing her patients’ health & wellness through chiropractic care. She graduated from San Jose’s Palmer College of Chiropractic & has set up a family oriented wellness practice at Pitt Meadows Wellness Centre. Dr. Liz’s practice is open to men & women, young & old; however, she has also completed post-doctorate training in pediatrics & perinatal care, allowing her to add special emphasis on kids & expectant moms in her practice. As a resident of Port Coquitlam, Dr Liz is pleased to offer wellness care to her community and beyond.

She emphasizes the importance of prevention & teaches her patients how to actively participate in their own health to create a wellness state. She is proficient in many different chiropractic techniques which allows her to recommend an adjustment style & program of care that is right for you.

Dr. Jen Yewchuk

Chiropractor – BSc, DC

Dr. Yewchuk grew up in Victoria, BC. She has always had a passion to help others. After working as a radiation therapist for several years in Vancouver, Toronto, and Abbotsford, she decided to pursue a different professional field that would allow her a broader scope of practice. In her quest to alleviate pain and improve the function and lifestyle of her patients she chose Chiropractic.

Dr. Yewchuk received her Doctorate of Chiropractic (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of Victoria. Prior to joining the Pitt Meadows Wellness team, Dr. Yewchuk worked in busy Chiropractic clinics in Surrey, BC and in Klamath Falls, Oregon where she gained a tremendous amount of experience.

Dr. Yewchuk is a compassionate, caring and skilled Doctor of Chiropractic. She is an excellent listener and communicator, which provides comfort to her patients, who feel comfortable and confident while under her care. Dr. Yewchuk treats patients of all ages and backgrounds, including infants, children, adults, athletes, pregnant women and the elderly. She is certified in Graston Technique, which is used to treat soft tissue issues. Her passion for working with infants and pregnant women led her to obtain the Webster technique certification, a specific technique that optimizes the pelvic biomechanics of pregnant moms.

Dr. Yewchuk has also completed additional seminars and courses focused on active rehabilitation of injuries. Not only does she treat the specific symptoms but she also strives to diagnose and correct the root biomechanical causes of the presenting complaints, so that her patients recover quickly, become stronger and perform at their maximum potential. In November 2016, Dr. Yewchuk became a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (USA), allowing her to advance her skills in treating athletes and patients with sports injuries.

Dr. Yewchuk is excited to be a part of the Pitt Meadows Wellness Team, where she enjoys collaborating with other exceptional health care professionals to ensure the best possible care for her patients.

Dr. Chris Luke

Chiropractor – BKin (Exercise Science), DC

Dr. Luke was raised in Pitt Meadows/Maple Ridge. Growing up he enjoyed playing sports and is an alumnus of the Pacific Rim Hockey Academy at Pitt Meadows Secondary. He has always had a passion for improving the health and well-being of his community, which led him to pursue a career in helping others. He spent two and a half years serving his community as a paid-on-call firefighter with the Pitt Meadows Fire and Rescue Service. He learned about the benefits of Chiropractic after dealing with various injuries from his active lifestyle and looks to provide those same benefits and insights to his patients.

He received his Doctor of Chiropractic (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Western States. He also holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology (Exercise Science) with distinction from the University of the Fraser Valley.

Dr. Luke uses an evidence-informed approach to patient care. He utilizes such methods as diversified adjusting, soft tissue therapy, rehab/exercise prescription, and behavioral/lifestyle recommendations to help you achieve your wellness goals and improve overall health. He also has experience in using cold laser and ultrasound to treat various soft tissue injuries.

Cornelis (Kees) Halverhout

Physiotherapist – BSc, PT, MCPA

Our Physiotherapist, Cornelis (Kees) Halverhout, B.Sc., P.T., M.C.PA, has been a member of the Pitt Meadows/Maple Ridge community for many years. After graduating with a Bachelors degree in Physiotherapy from the Hague Academy of Physiotherapy in 1987, Kees practiced in the Netherlands until 1990 when he decided to make Canada his home. After serving as Staff Physiotherapist at the Mount St Joseph Hospital in Vancouver, Kees established Burke Mountain Physiotherapy Clinic, Coquitlam in 1991. Kees continued on to open Meadow Vale Physiotherapy in Pitt Meadows in 2004, and in late 2013 merged with us at Pitt Meadows Wellness.

Nicola (Nikki) Tait

Physiotherapist – BSc, PT

Nikki earned her physiotherapy degree at Manchester University in the UK. After moving to Canada in 2000, she worked in acute care, rehab and private practice.

Nikki has taken many post-graduate courses in neurology, orthopedics, and pain management. Patients receive a detailed assessment which includes education and a home exercise program. She is interested in treating whiplash, sports injuries, total hip replacements and knee replacements.

Nikki is certified for IMS (Intramuscular Stimulation) and is now offering this treatment to patients.

Ali Walker

Registered Massage Therapist – RMT

Ali started as a receptionist here at Pitt Meadows Wellness and was inspired to go back to school to become an RMT. She is a graduate of the massage therapy program at Vancouver College of Massage Therapy. She has been licensed through the College of Massage Therapists of BC since 2020.

Amber Crowder-Daniels

Registered Massage Therapist – RMT

Amber graduated from the 3000-hour Massage Therapy program at West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2011. She is licensed with the College of Massage Therapists of BC and is a member in good standing with the Registered Massage Therapists Association of BC.

Amber strives to provide a high level of care to all her patients but has a special interest in the treatment of pregnant and postpartum individuals as well as those experiencing chronic or persistent pain. During a treatment, she employs a variety of techniques depending on your specific concerns. She believes in holistic care for the whole person and is pleased to be a part of the Pitt Meadows Wellness team.  Amber loves being in nature and enjoys hiking too.

Andre Tee

Registered Massage Therapist – BPE, RMT

André graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1992 with bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. He then graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 1995 and entered private practice shortly after. André is one of the original RMTs who helped launch this clinic in 1996. With over 25 years of experience, his focus is on rehabilitation, prevention and maintenance using a wide array of techniques and skills learned over the years.

Andrea Thwaites

I find chronic pain and neurological conditions fascinating. I grew up in rural Oregon and somehow ended up in beautiful British Columbia. I always had an interest in massage therapy, but became a chef and baker for 25 yrs instead.

Angela McLeod

Registered Massage Therapist – RMT

Angela has been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2002.

An interest in a holistic approach to health care and a basic desire to help people feel better-made massage therapy a fitting career choice for Angela. She has a strong interest in fascial and visceral manipulation.

Visceral manipulation is a treatment that involves working with the mobility of internal organs (viscera). Fascia knows no bounds, therefore, pain and restrictions can spread throughout many different types of tissue. The modalities used are subtle and enhance the proper function of organs by encouraging their normal mobility and tone.

Some indications for visceral manipulation include bladder incontinence, dysmenorrhea, acid reflux (heartburn), any digestive issues, swallowing dysfunctions, anxiety, and headaches to name a few.

It is an excellent tool to have a more complete and holistic approach to treatment to allow the body to fully heal.

Brenda Roberts

Registered Massage Therapist – RMT

Brenda graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in New Westminster & has been working as a Registered Massage Therapist since 2006. Brenda is experienced in treating a wide variety of health related issues. Some examples are soft tissue injuries, headaches, repetitive strain injuries, pregnancy, stress reduction & postural dysfunction. During treatment she uses techniques most appropriate for each patient. Brenda continues to take postgraduate courses to broaden her knowledge which allows her to give the most effective treatment to her patients. Brenda believes the best results can be achieved with input & effort by both therapist & patient. She looks forward to helping you on your path to meet your health care goals.

Dayna Schoepp

Registered Massage Therapist – RMT (she/her)

Appreciator of dogs and nature, lifelong local, multifaceted therapeutic approach

My goal as your RMT is to help you get the most out of life by feeling your best through a comprehensive health and wellness approach. I am fascinated by the therapeutic potential of massage therapy on the body and nervous system, and the positive effects it can have on someone’s life. 

My past experience in sports, longtime yoga practice and love of hiking have always kept my interests in health, and moved me toward my RMT practice. Rugby and basketball first brought me to a Registered Massage Therapist as a teen athlete, enabling my quick return to sports. This later inspired me to continue learning about massage therapy and its effectiveness across the wellness spectrum, and I have practiced at Pitt Meadows Wellness Centre since graduating from WCCMT in 2017. I also continue to seek massage therapy to aid my own physical and mental health.

I enjoy using a variety of techniques in treatment to address patient’s concerns in a personal and thorough manner. This begins with a concise interview and assessment before each treatment. Myofacial release, trigger point release, neuromuscular therapy, low grade joint mobilizations, deep tissue and general Swedish massage are some of the techniques I use. After, I offer home care suggestions that may further assist.

My treatment style adapts to many different needs. I have experience working with a variety of physical injuries, athletes, office and labour workers, pregnancy and parent life, car accident injuries, stress, those with physical and/or mental disabilities, and patients of many ages and identities. My intention is to provide massage therapy to improve pain, function and stress in a safe space for all. 

Outside of work, I can be found tending to my garden and plant collection, enjoying mystery and documentary podcasts and shows, creating art, doing yoga, and spending time in nature. I have lived in Maple Ridge since early childhood, and Ridge Meadows has always been my home. I currently reside here with my husband and our dog.

Melanie Klapstock

Registered Massage Therapist – RMT

Melanie has been practicing massage therapy since 1996.  She believes in looking at the whole picture when putting together a treatment plan for the wellness of patients.

Having played many sports, participated in Ironman, off-road triathlon and trail running races, she has a strong background in sports related issues.  She has worked with elite ultramarathon runners, strongest competitors alive, Olympic athletes and other sports enthusiasts. She enjoys looking at how fitness can help increase the effectiveness of massage therapy.

She believes in keeping an open mind to all alternative therapies and will not hesitate to suggest when she feels patients may need help outside of massage therapy, or simply from another massage therapist if her skills don’t suit the needs.  Her mission is to make sure all patients receive the best care possible.

She has taken many continuing education courses over her career that have given her a better understanding of human movement, fascial restrictions and updated treatment techniques.

Melanie enjoys working with patients of all ages and backgrounds, always striving to solve issues with pain or mobility in a holistic way.

Melanie Pollard

Melanie is a long standing RMT in the community of Pitt Meadows.

I’ve always been interested in health care and the wellness of others. I have traveled all over the world and love to get outdoors and hike in my spare time. I have also been a labor and delivery doula for the past 17 years and enjoy helping families on their new journey.

Patti Ibbitt

Registered Massage Therapist – BA, RMT

Patti graduated from the 3,000 hour program at West Coast College of Massage Therapy in New Westminster, BC. She has been a member of the College of Massage Therapists and Massage Therapy Association of BC, since the spring of 2003 when she began working at Pitt Meadows Wellness. Prior to becoming an RMT, Patti earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Simon Fraser University in Contemporary Dance with a minor in Kinesiology.

She spent many years in the community as a ballet instructor and performer and continues to enjoy taking dance classes. Patti has a genuine passion for the study of human movement, anatomy, health and healing. She has taken many continuing education courses and keeps updated on new techniques, modalities and health science. Most recently Patti has studied and is also practicing energy healing. Her compassion and caring for her patients is evident in long lasting therapeutic relationships.

Anna Mieszkowska

Acupuncturist – RAc

Anna has been practising acupuncture for over twenty years. She joined Pitt Meadows Wellness Centre in 2006.

She graduated from the Canadian College of TCM in Vancouver in 1999, and she holds an MSc from Poland.

Anna enjoys working with people from all walks of life. In her practice she offers treatment for various types of pain. Additionally, other health issues can be addressed when required. Anna is passionate about sharing the wisdom and the beauty of this ancient healing system. She promotes active participation by her patients in their treatment plan by introducing acupressure “workouts” and simple yet effective medical Qi Gong exercises that can be easily done on a daily basis between treatments.

Over the years Anna has taken part in many projects on behalf  of CTCMA, contributing to the development of her profession.

Dr. Hanli (Lina) Zheng

Acupuncturist – TCM

Dr Lina Zheng studied Western and Eastern medicine in Beijing Capital University of Medical Science and Beijing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She also worked as an attending physician in Xuanwu Hospital, Beijing Capital University of Medical Science for nine years before immigrating to Canada.

Dr. Lina Zheng is a registered Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine in BC and opened an acupuncture clinic in Port Coquitlam in 2001 treating mainly the following symptoms and diseases:

Dr. Nian Hai (Raymond) Liang

Dr. Raymond Liang is a Registered Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM). He obtained his Bachelor degree of TCM and MSc from the Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. Since then, Dr. Raymond has been a practicing herbalist, acupuncturist and instructor at the TCM school for more than 20 years. He is committed to a complete and holistic treatment (acupuncture, herbs, cupping, etc.) to aid a wide variety of medical problems.

Acupuncture and other TCM therapies are suitable for people who are seeking a natural and effective form of health care, to help avoid side-effects of invasive medical services.

Throughout my work I strive to incorporate an extensive foundation of knowledge and experience towards helping, and supporting the needs of others. It has always been my great purpose to help others, because I believe that there are times we all need someone else to help us get through life’s challenges when it becomes too difficult to do so on our own.

I have a BA in Sociology from Simon Fraser University and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.

As a Counsellor I have a significant level of experience working with both children and adults experiencing problems with anxiety, trauma, and depression. In my work I have always held much faith in others abilities to ultimately find what answers and paths are best suited to their own needs. Therefore, my work encompasses a collaborative client-centered approach that seeks to help others resolve the challenges they are experiencing.

I facilitate an approach to counselling that is holistic and fluid in nature. I incorporate a humanistic, and solution focused approach with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. Within such a way of counselling I believe that not only can I help those I work with overcome the challenges they are facing, but also help further move them towards fulfilling their own potential as individuals.

Colleen McGuire

Colleen has a passion for educating others about taking steps toward changing their lives through healthy eating. Her knowledge and drive led her to create At the Table Nutrition (www.atthetablenutrition.com), a business that allows her to combine her excellent teaching capacity with her holistic approach to food.

As well as degrees from the University of British Columbia in Dietetics and San Diego State University in Education, she is a graduate of the University of Alberta Hospitals dietetic internship program. Born and raised in Montreal, Colleen now resides with her family in Greater Vancouver.

Colleen has over 20 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian, counselling clients through various centres in the Lower Mainland, including Pitt Meadows Wellness. She is a devoted lifelong learner, continually keeping up to date with innovations and trends in her field.

With her love of the field of food and eating and her passion for cooking, Colleen is always creating new and simple ways for everyone to eat better.

Jason Soolaman

Kinesiologist – BSc (Kinesiology)

Jason joined Pitt Meadows Wellness in September of 2020. He is a member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists.

He will help determine if you are appropriate for an active rehab program by completing a thorough assessment of your condition, and discussing your suitability with your family doctor if needed.  The goal of active rehab is to help you return to daily activities at home, at work, and recreationally.

Jason brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to our team!
